Customer Evaluations
Ok I did not buy this on Amazon, I got it at a neighborhood expo show and paid a small a great deal more but it is the identical heli. This is a extremely good helicopter and regardless of other reviews seems to be incredibly durable. To give an example I have crashed quite a few times, including into the ground, into a tree, a telephone pole, a steel automotive lift (the things that lift cars in mechanic shops), even though I have a few dents and dings in the rotors they are nevertheless solid and it nevertheless flies. The balance bar bent as well but I just bent it back and all is well. I would call that pretty fine considering some of the alot more high dollar helis like my buddy has the rotor will shatter upon get in touch with with a solid surface.
There is a learning curve to flying this. Just considering it is a gyro copter, dont feel that you can just take it out and fly with out crashing. I had a tough time acquiring off the ground for the to begin with day, ground effect came in and created it go left every time. After some practice and messing with the trim tabs on day 2 I got certainly fine at it. It is affected by wind but ALL helicopters are. This is to consist of true helicopters. Not a thing I typically bring up but in this case it may help, I use to be on a flight line with the AH-64A and AH-64D on a regular basis, I also worked on the guidance systems and weapons. Wind has a dramatic have an effect on on a significant heli so tiny winds can and will knock an RC to the ground. To begin studying either do it on a day with no wind or find a health club/auditorium to start out.
Battery time is not bad, I get about 15 minutes per charge, it takes about two.5 hrs to recharge the battery. I just ordered 5 much more batteries here on amazon so that I can get about an hour or more of play time prior to getting to wait on a charge. General I am happy with the purchase and actually am going to get 1 for my buddy who paid more than 400 on his Pro heli that is too difficult to get off the ground. I figure use these a learning tool then get to the bigger significantly more advanced four - 6 channel helis.
Once more just a suggestion, but get excellent with it at about 1.5 - two ft off the ground very first. Its tougher to fly closer to the ground given that of ground effects so if you can get beneficial close to the ground you need to have no issues higher in the air.
For the cost, you actually get a pretty decent piece of hardware. That getting said, there are a couple of modifications I would make just before use. It says prepared to fly on the box, and fly it will... how nicely is certainly open to debate. The very first factor is to take away the canopy, loosen the battery, and slide it most of the way forward, then tighten the mounting bracket down again. This will move the center of gravity forward. This is necessary considering with out performing this, you literally can not fly forwards. Other mods to increase maneuverability are to shorten the tail boom, slide the landing skids forward (simple), and replace the rear tail rotor with one of these: [...]
Just after replacing the rear rotor you will have to move the rear stabilizers up on the boom to make room for the bigger blades.
Yet another mod that assists a lot is to replace the battery with a bigger 1, like a 15c 7.4v 3000mah. This also improves the flight characteristics by rising weight in the nose, and over all (much less probably to be batted about by the wind)
Make certain to obtain a full set of replacement parts. You will will need them... the helicopter is difficult, dont get be incorrect (I have crashed from 40+ feet with tiny to no damage) but there are breakable parts like the blade holders. (they are low cost, acquire a hand complete)
And right here is a link to a forum which has a lot of very good information about how to make this beneficial small chopper a amazing 1. For the price, its definitely a excellent deal.

A lot of people seem to knock this helicopter because they don't ever want to operate on it. That is part of the hobby... Enhancing and repairing the equipment. Its not all that complicated, and the parts are Affordable, which is a boon. There are a number of 'hobby grade' helicopters out there you could spend a lot far more dollars on that quite possibly fly much better and so on... but the expense of maintainability goes WAY up. Consider that for an initial investment of ~$60 its very a hoot.
