Customer Reviews

This thing is rock solid stable and easy to fly. Take it out of the box, charge it, and you're ready to go. It is stable enough that you can stop it at a hover and let go of the controls and it will stay there (inside or outside no wind of course).
I give it a "I like it" on educational value because things like this are great for developing hand eye coordination.
As far as durability, it's good for what it is. If you land it hard or smack it in to something chances are you will break something. That's just due to the weight/momentum of it. The good thing is parts are readily available and not expensive. I do suggest one of the micro sized ones to practice with at first. They are so light you can bounce them off the wall, ceiling, floor many times without breaking them.
Overall it is a great RC heli, especially for the price.

I ordered one of these from Xheli before checking it out here. I paid $39.95 but they also charged me $22 for shipping. Next time I will check here first. I have a Double Horse 9053 that is very similar to this one. I had to reverse the lower blades and add weight to the front end to get it to fly properly and I am sure that I will have to do that to this one. If you go to YouTube you will find several videos on changes that you can make to these helicopters. You do not have to remove the outer shaft to reverse the lower blades, like some videos show. Once you remove the inner shaft, you can remove the plastic cap from the top of the outer shaft and take the lower blades off to reverse them. I added parts to the tail rotor, but that did not help to get the helicopter to fly forward. I finally attached a broken 1/2 drill bit to the front of the skids up against the braces and it now flys perfectly. The bit weighs less than 3 ounces and you can experiment with your own weight. You could try different bolts that are slightly wider than the skids. The little bit of weight that I added did not hinder the operation of the helicopter. I do have a commercial helicopter rating, but these do not fly anything like a real helicopter. If you can afford it, you would be wise to buy a good helicopter simulator to practice on. I have a RealFlight and that has helped me a lot. But, it did take me awhile to get used to not actually being in the front seat when making turns, because you do have to simulate that you are in the front seat when deciding which way to turn. These are a lot of fun and quit durable, but you will break parts. The best place to get parts is Amazon or Ebay. Good Luck.
Received my 9101 today. I have not had a chance to fly it yet, but it is larger than my 9053. it is slightly more than an inch longer and higher than the 9053. The canopy is higher than the 9053 and I believe that you will not be able to reverse the lower blades to get more clearance like you can on the 9053. The main blades are the same on both helicopters, but the tail rotors are different and not interchangeable. Many of the parts look the same, but I can not be sure they are until I have to make repairs. I will report back if I find any problems with this helicopter.
I bought another one of these from Amazon for $39.95 and got free shipping and I got it in 3 days. I flew both of mine today and they were much easier to control than my 9053. I did have a very slight wind, but these are not meant to fly in windy conditions. These do have the same problem as the 9053 helicopters. They do not want to fly forward. I attached a 2 ounce drill bit to the front of the skids and it will now go forward pretty well. You could experiment using different size 5" bolts and see what works best for you. I am well satisfied with these helicopters.
